Back From Madine

…What’s Next In The Wake Of The World Carp Classic? As I commented yesterday on Facebook: “Yes, I’m still here, though I’m sure a lot of FB friends and carpfishingblog readers have been wondering where I am, and more importantly, how we went in the World Carp Classic? And, why I didn’t post anything much on here or on my blog during the competition? The simplest answer to that is no we didn’t catch unfortunately,... [Read More...]

The Pointy End…

~ We’re At It Now!!! ~ Following on from my last blog, Ben, Roland and I are most certainly at the ‘pointy end’.  With only a few days to go, it’s full steam ahead in the build up to our channel crossing this coming Friday.  I had thought I’d be a lot more organised than I am.  When in fact forgetting hooks and tying rigs is only the half of it, as there are quiet a few other things I’m going to be hard pressed... [Read More...]

Darenth Social

~ Niblet Drops In On The Thinking Carp Forum J/S/OG Competion ~ Due to some unavoidable family commitments I wasn’t able to compete myself in thinkingCarp Juniors vs Seniors vs Old Gits competion over the weekend of the 14th – 15th August at Darenth’s Long Lake. However, I did make it up on the Sunday for a bit of a social with the guys, some of whom I’d met previously at their Hawkhurst Fisheries competition last month. Waiting,... [Read More...]

Aussie Teams First Practice Session

…CC Moore AUS Dynamic Duo Meet Up It has taken months of planning to get to this stage, and I think we both drew a big sigh once we’d set up in our double swim and had settled behind the rods.  This was after all only our second meet up, and the first opportunity we’d had to wet a line together. From the get go we’d decided that if nothing else it’d be a great chance to test out our gear and baits etc. Ben had just bought... [Read More...]

CC Moore To Sponsor Aussie Team

I’m very proud to be able to announce on my humble carp blog that World Carp Classic section sponsor CC Moore & Co Ltd will be sponsoring “Team Oz” – namely Ben Cook and myself!  I can’t tell you how much of a confidence boost this is to us both, to have a top shelf bait company like CCM behind us.  From the get go bait has been one of my biggest concerns, what brand of bait do we use, do we go for particles, do... [Read More...]

Carp Fishing Australia On YouTube

It gives me great pleasure to be able to present to you on my blog some amazing Aussie carping footage, taken by Tomasz Pawlus and his associates.  I first became aware of these video clips as a result of a post on the Australian Freshwater Angling forum last year.  To be honest, at first I was quite surprised that a fellow Oz carper would publicize their home water so openly in this way.  Certainly something I would be reluctant do on YouTube... [Read More...]

Merry Xmas & Happy Hippo Hunting In 2010

I just want to wish everyone that takes the time to read my blog a very happy Christmas. Also to wish you all the very best for 2010 and in particular for all your carping endeavours, and that the New Year brings you the fish of your dreams I must appologise for the lack of content being added to the blog over the past few weeks. But my acceptance into next years World Carp Classic has pretty much stood my normal routine on its head. However,... [Read More...]

Aussie Team Enter 2010 World Carp Classic

Wow! What can I say, this has come as a bolt out of the blue for sure! Yesterday (8th of December) I received conformation that our entry into the 2010 World Carp Classic had been accepted.  After a great deal of anticipation and nail-biting our little Aussie flag had appeared on the list of competitors, and to see your name on the board along with high calibre guns like Tim Paisley and Lee Jackson is a very humbling experience indeed. So far... [Read More...]
