Last Practice Before World Carp Classic

~ A sneaky 48hr Session Away From The Homested ~ This one really was a squeeze, I’d just dropped the wife and grommet off at Ashford’s Eurostar Terminal at 9am Tuesday, for their Paris shopping spree.  Then gunned it back to Canterbury to pick up my kit to get down to the lake.  Amazingly by 1230pm I had both rods out, and was able at last to give my ears a rest and sit back in anticipation of some Kent lumps. All the goodies you need... [Read More...]

Aussie Teams First Practice Session

…CC Moore AUS Dynamic Duo Meet Up It has taken months of planning to get to this stage, and I think we both drew a big sigh once we’d set up in our double swim and had settled behind the rods.  This was after all only our second meet up, and the first opportunity we’d had to wet a line together. From the get go we’d decided that if nothing else it’d be a great chance to test out our gear and baits etc. Ben had just bought... [Read More...]

It Never Rains But It Pours

…And The Carp Gods Smile On Me Yet Again! If you’re thinking I’m going to make some grandiose announcement of some monster fish having been taken… you’d be wrong.  The title of this blog may appear a tad misleading, but I’m referring to probably the biggest capture of my life.  Not a carp, but a veritable treasure trove of carp kit! Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - Oi, Oi, Oi! I’m posting this on my mobile blogging... [Read More...]

Niblet’s Carpworld Magazine Debut

….CC Moore AUS team featured in Carpworld’s International Carper! I’ve just been online to order myself a copy of Carpworld to see what my article looks like?  It won’t be until I clap my own eyes on it that I’ll believe it.  Quite unexpectedly I had an email from Ross Honey last Wednesday, to tell me that it had been published in the July issue (number 238), which went on the newsstands on Friday.  It wasn’t... [Read More...]

No more Oz Fishing For A While :-(

…Just As Well I Checked My Plane Ticket!!! I had a bit of a laugh to myself last year when I rocked up to my mate Sean’s place in Melbourne, having flown over to housesit for him for six weeks while he was away fishing in the UK and on the Ebro.  I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, and had planned to spend a couple of days orientating myself with Sean in a part of the city I didn’t know at all well.  However, the two days was suddenly... [Read More...]

World Carp Classic Latest

….Niblet’s Preparations Hit Overdrive I cannot begin to to tell you how excited I am right at this moment. To say my preps are in overdrive would be a gross understatement, I think blind panic would be a fairer description. I’m running about like a headless chook, and if I spin around any faster I think I’m going to disappear up my own arse! This is the first time I’ve had this week to give the blog any attention, even... [Read More...]

CC Moore To Sponsor Aussie Team

I’m very proud to be able to announce on my humble carp blog that World Carp Classic section sponsor CC Moore & Co Ltd will be sponsoring “Team Oz” – namely Ben Cook and myself!  I can’t tell you how much of a confidence boost this is to us both, to have a top shelf bait company like CCM behind us.  From the get go bait has been one of my biggest concerns, what brand of bait do we use, do we go for particles, do... [Read More...]

Aussie Team Enter 2010 World Carp Classic

Wow! What can I say, this has come as a bolt out of the blue for sure! Yesterday (8th of December) I received conformation that our entry into the 2010 World Carp Classic had been accepted.  After a great deal of anticipation and nail-biting our little Aussie flag had appeared on the list of competitors, and to see your name on the board along with high calibre guns like Tim Paisley and Lee Jackson is a very humbling experience indeed. So far... [Read More...]
