The Better Boilie Company
~ Boilies Now Available In Australia ~
Wow, now there’s a headline I never thought I’d be reporting! For the first time in Australia high quality BNV boilies are now commercially available, thanks solely to the foresight and innovation of Sydney based carper Luke Dixon of OzCarp. When it comes to carp bait, this country is so far behind current trends found in Europe, North America and other parts of the globe, its not funny. For years I’ve have tried to import boilies from the UK without much luck. Even to the extent of obtaining a UK manufacturers declaration of boilie ingredients to placate AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service), who were poised waiting to destroy my shipment of my bait that they’d seized. A long story short, I failed, even after groveling to their head office in Canberra, and subsequently they were nuked. This experience lead me realise the futility of bait importation in Australia on an individual level. Commercially; with an an import license didn’t seem to hold much hope of winning over AQIS either, with their “fishbait” mindset to boilies, that avenue was abandoned as well.
In a nutshell, Oz carpers either had to try and concoct their own boilies, or like many, not bother and use other more easily obtainable baits like particles instead. That is until now! Luke has changed everything by manufacturing a pukka bait here in Australia. And I think you’ll agree his prices are very fair for his range of fresh baits. His 2011 price list can be found at the bottom of this post. I have replicated below his entire PDF file catalogue 2011 to let you see the full range of bait, as well as other products like Free Spirit and Korda, for which Luke is an agent for here in Australia.
